Everyone is liable to have at least one traumatic event happen in their life. Trauma therapy helps you to talk through those events and have a safe space to share.
You may have witnessed the death of a loved one, been in a situation where your life was threatened or witnessed someone else be threatened.
Veterans will often have triggers of PTSD and psychological trauma that may be difficult to cope with those events.
EMDR Can Help
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) can be a good tool to help process these feelings and events. This type of session is focused on interactive psychotherapy technique used to relieve psychological stress.
You will focus your attention on a place your therapist says to while reliving your memories or triggering experiences in short sessions. Over time, you will be able to go through these triggering moments with less impacting feelings after talking through them.
Our goal of using Trauma Therapy and EMDR are to help you be able to talk through your events and feelings by making the memories less emotionally upsetting for you. It gives you the opportunity to focus on a memory or distress and work through the symptoms at a faster pace than traditional talk therapy.
